14% of households in Waco received food stamps in 2017


Waco ranked 430th in Georgia for the percentage of households receiving food stamps in 2017, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau in August.

27 of 193 Waco households (14 percent) received food stamps. Waco's population reached 388 people in 2017.

The city with the largest percentage of households receiving food stamps in the state was Phillipsburg, which had 185 of 311 households receiving food stamps, 45.5 percent more than Waco. In 2017 the population of Phillipsburg was 878.

The cities with the lowest percentage of households receiving food stamps in the state were Druid Hills, Skidaway Island. In these cities, 0.3 percent of households received foodstamps - 13.7 percent less than Waco.
