Liberty County ranked 26th in state for resident earnings in 2017


Liberty County ranked 26th among counties in Georgia by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau in August.

The median income of Liberty County residents was an inflation-adjusted $27,066 per year. Liberty County had 23,108 households in 2017, with a population of 62,120.

The county with the highest median resident income in the state was Forsyth County. Forsyth County's median income was $41,295 per year after adjusting for inflation – $14,229 more than Liberty County. It had 70,468 households in 2017 and a population of 211,300.

Clay County had the lowest annual resident income among counties in Georgia, with a median income of only $16,588 per year. That was $10,478 less than the median income in Liberty County at the time. Clay County had 1,154 households in 2017 and a population of 3,024.
