Graduates earn 816 degrees, certificates from Piedmont College


About 69.6 percent of the 816 degrees and certificates handed out by Piedmont College in 2017-18 were to students in education programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Demorest conferred 275 master's degrees and 231 certificates in education programs.

But the single most popular program was for a certificate in curriculum and instruction. Data shows the school gave out 229 certificates in curriculum and instruction, followed by 152 master's degrees in elementary education and teaching and 63 bachelor's degrees in registered nursing, nursing administration, nursing research and other clinical nursing.

The college enrolled 2,361 students for 2017-18, including 1,281 in undergraduate programs and 1,080 in graduate programs.
