Graduates earn 1,868 degrees, certificates from Columbus State University


About 22.6 percent of the 1,868 degrees and certificates handed out by Columbus State University in 2017-18 were to students in education programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Columbus conferred 195 master's degrees and 131 certificates in education programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in registered nursing/registered nurse. Data shows the school gave out 172 bachelor's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse, followed by 117 certificates in general educational leadership and administration and 97 certificates in criminal justice/safety studies.

The university enrolled 8,453 students for 2017-18, including 6,799 in undergraduate programs and 1,654 in graduate programs.
