Graduates earn 1,662 degrees, certificates from Albany State University


About 34.7 percent of the 1,662 degrees and certificates handed out by the Albany State University in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Albany conferred 466 associate's degrees and 70 bachelor's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies. Data shows the school gave out 427 associate's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies, followed by 314 associate's degrees in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse and 70 bachelor's degrees in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse.

The university enrolled 3,041 students for 2016-17, including 2,594 in undergraduate programs and 447 in graduate programs.
